Reading has always been my favourite pastime, it just feels so lovely to pick up a book and get so lost in it that you believe your living it alongside the characters.
I actually read the first book of this trilogy last year and didn’t realise there was two others to follow, so when I started to search for books for my holiday I was so excited to find them.
The story is set in a dystopian world where love is believed to be one of the most deadliest diseases, and your only hope is to be cured. The main character Lena Haloway can’t wait to be cured and live in the safe, peaceful world that the government promises her. But when she meets Alex, who lives in the Wilds and doesn’t believe in the cure, her whole world is turned upside down.
At the moment my favourite types of stories are ones which are set in a dystopian/utopian world, I find it fascinating how authors can take something so simple and twist it slightly so that it seems completely different to our world.
I seriously found this book addictive and successfully finished both the second and third installments in a week. The twists within the story both excite and shock you and I found myself devastated when I turned the final page. Since then I’ve been searching for another one like it, I’ll let you know if I find one.
